G: Study is ungeneralisable as Ainsworth only studied 100 middle-class American children aged 9-18 months. America = individualistic culture, China = collectivist culture - infants may be more insecure avoidant as they are brought up in communties rather than 1 caregiver. Working-class children may also follow same trend as they're moe likely to go to childcare while parents are working. Types of attachments may not be valid for all groups.
R: Study is reliable as it has inter-rater reliability - allows different observers to watch thesame children & decide on what type of attachment child has - makes us more confident as the type of attachment doesn't rely on who's watching the child. Control variables…
