Tricky Play Terms.

?

You'll just have to learn these words, I'm afraid. Without them it'll never quite make sense.

A play is divided into Acts and Scenes.

The play is divided into five big sections, called acts. Each act is like an episode of a TV series - lots of things happen in it, but it's only part of the whole thing.

Each act is made up of smaller sections called scenes. Scenes are just a way of breaking up the story. A new scene starts when time has passed or the story moves to a different place.

ACT and SCENE are two words you're likely to hear all the time when studying
