Translation involves using the mRNA strand as a template for the correct assembly of a polypeptide chain.


1) The mRNA strand associates with a ribosome.

2) At any time, 2 codons are exposed in the ribosome.

3) In the cytoplasm are tRNA molecules - each one has an anticodon and each carries a specific amino acid - determined by their anticodon.

4) A tRNA molecule with the complementary anticodon
