Techinical skills - workers may need to gain skills used to use machines or software use in their job

Management skills - a worker may be newly promoted and have to learn how to manage staff in the company

Group working - workers may need training in working well in a group 

Flexibility - a firm may want to give workers training in many different areas as this will mean they are capable of doing many different jobs
