WHAT IS THE COMPOSITION OF AIR

• carbon dioxide= 0.03%
• noble gases= 1%
• oxygen= 21%
• nitrogen= 78%
• Air is a mixture of its constituents so these may be separated by fractional distillation. They must be liquefied first. 

LIQUEFACTION OF AIR

• When a gas is compressed, it gets hotter.
• When pressure is suddenly reduced, the gas expands and cools.
