Part one: Atticus

• Background and Scout's attitude to her father - "I once asked Atticus if it ever had any; Atticus said yes, but before I was born"

This quote shows us that when Atticus is asked a question, here about the Radley place he answers it honestly, but because of the bluntness of the response he does not go any further and begin gossip about people. It also shows hat Scout knows not to pester her father and that what he says is the true and that is all.

• "You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view, until you climb into his skin and walk around in it"

Firstly we can tell from this quote that Atticus is a fair person who tries to see everybodies point of view equally. Also "skin" is mentioned which could a reference to later…
