Titles for Jesus - Son of God

Jesus didn't call himself the Son of God but Mark often does refer to him as the Son of God. For Mark, the title shows that he had a unique relationship with God - he was the actual Son of God, not an adopted son and not a faithful Jew (in the Old Testament, faithful Jews were often referred to as the Son of God)

The title occurs at significant points in the Gospel:

1) In the introduction to the Gospel. Mark says that the Gospel is about Jesus Christ, the Son of God
