Organisation
Multicellular organisms usually contain differentiated cells, adapted to perform specific functions.
A tissue is a group of specialised cells which have a similar structure and function.
An organ is a group of different tissues which work together to form a specific function.
An organ system is a group of organs that work together in an organism.
During the development of a multicellular organism, cells differentiate so that they can perform specific functions. Differentiation is the process by which a cell becomes a specialised type of cell.
