Three Gorges Dam

®    It is the largest hydro-electric dam and it is a very notorious dam

®    The dam would cost $25 billion to build and is being funded by lots of different groups including Brazil

®    The four goals the government has for the dam is flood control, power generation, navigation and tourism

®    The dam has caused 1.2 million people to have to move and 13 cities, 140 towns and 1,350 villages to be flooded

®    The length of the reservoir is more than 600 km which is a record

®    Throughout the project there has been a lot of corruption, environmental impacts, increasing costs, human rights violations and resettlement difficulties

®    There have already been lots of negative environmental impacts these are expected…
