Threat of the Left in 1919 to the Weimar Republic

THREAT OF THE LEFT in 1919:

Following the revolutions of 1918 and 1919, socialist politics remained in a state of confusion with INNER CONFLICT:

• SPD were committed to PARLIAMENTARY DEMOCRACY
• KPD were INSPIRED by BOLSHEVIK RUSSIA, pressing for PROLETARIAN SOCIALIST SOCIETY.
• USPD were in the middle, who wanted a SOCIALIST SOCIETY, within a DEMOCRATIC FRAMEWORK.
