- Believed diseases could be organised into groups, like plants and animals could

- Didn't beleive in the idea that each desease was personal to the person and therefore the treatment needed to be personal to them too, like with The Theory of The Four Humors

- Theorised that the nature of the patient had little to do with the disease

• Influence - 

- Very modern ideas and laid the foundadtions for a more scientific approach to medicine in the 18th century onwards

• Education -  

- Nicknamed the 'English Hippocrates'

- Well-respected doctor…
