Exothermic reactions
An exothermic reaction is one which transfers energy to the surrounding usually by heating. Some examples are combustion, neutralisation reactions and many oxidation reactions. Exothermic reactions have lots of every day uses such as hand warmers which uses exothermic oxidation of iron in air to release energy.
Endothermic reaction
An endothermic reaction is one which takes in energy from its surroundings, shown by a fall in temperature. Endothermic reactions are much lesson common than exothermic ones. Some examples…
