1) Conduction:
mode of heat transfer
from hot end to cold end
from particle to particle of medium
Where it takes place usually:
in solids
Why it is not possible in vacuum:
it requires medium
Explain Conduction:
heat one end of solid
atoms at heated end absorb energy
so they vibrate without leaving mean position
pass extra energy to neighbouring atoms
neighbouring atoms gain energy- start to vibrate
process continues till entire arrangement of atoms start to vibrate
So what?
Heat is transferred from hot end to cold end
