Governments can be Democratic or Non-democratic
Democratic Governments e.g. UK, USA, France, Germany
There is a choice of political parties and elections are held regularly.
Representatives are elected by the people to be a voice for them
Official groups are set up to monitor the work
Democracies can be:
A republic - a country with no monarch but has an elected president e.g. USA
A constitutional monarchy - a country with a monarch (limited power) but is run by an elected government e.g. UK
Non-Democratic Governments e.g. Vietnam, People's Republic of China, Cuba
There is only one political party and their power is not limited
The public doesn't get to vote and the media is controlled (no free-press) only pro-government…
