Migration has helped shape the UK because people have been coming here for centuries
Culture has been brought from the Romans, Normans, Saxons, Vikings, Celts and Picts
Protestants came to England to escape persecution from Europe
Irish Catholics came to Britain as economic migrants to escape poverty and famine
Jews came to Britain to escape Nazi Germany
Economc migrants move to earn more money for a better life
Political migrants move to get away from persecution e.g. threats due to religious beliefs
Refugees move to escape problems in their own…
