The theme of love in The God of Small Things

Love could be seen to be a major theme in The God of Small things due to key events mentioning or giving evidence to show that love could be one theme that leads to the results of Sophie Mol's death and the outcome of what happens after this.

The evidence displays the children's immaturity to the reader. they show an eagerness to grow up without a great concept of what love actually is. The twins appear jealous of Sophie the idea that she is 'Loved from the beginning' is evidence that they are jealous that she has two parents and they have only one.

Velutha's love for Ammu is real, he loves everything about her, it is clear that the children have a part to play in the love between the pair. They curiosity they show to Velutha
