The lower course of the river

HideShow resource information

The features of the lower course are formed mainly due to deposition. This is rocks and pebbles being dropped.

Deposition happens when:

  • Rivers flow more slowly on the inside of the bend
  • When it takes place the heavy materials such as large boulders are deposited
