The question of annulment
Duty of a royal marriage is to secure the seccussion- Cath of Aragon had several miscarriages, three still borns or died within the first week, and two infants who died weeks after birth- She had one surving child, Princess Mary born in 1516.
In 1527, HVIII has an acute succession problem and had decided he needed to annul his marriage to Cath of Aragon.
He had no prospect of a legimate son, as Cath was 42 years…
