Parliament's cause led by Pym was now stalling as the King became more cooperative and took members of the opposition on as his ministers.

Pym's calls for reforms were being undermined. But now came the perfect propoganda piece;

1st November 1641 - word reaches Parliament of rebellion in Ireland. Letters are read by the earl of Leicester from Dublin that massacres were killing protestants.
