A gene is a small section of chromosomes. The genetic code is the order of base pairs in the gene. Each gene has these pairs in a different order. Each gene codes for a different protein. Your genetic code controls the enzymes made in your cells. The enzymes control the reactions in your cells. So the genetic cod controls the cell activity and controls your characteristics.
