PLURALISTS believe that PSB's (public service broadcasters) are proof of media integrity.

HOWEVER,

Sociologists have suggested that PSB's like the BBC are abandoning its PSB aims because they are losing audience numbers due to the increase in commerical and satelitle TV programmes. Channels like the BBC are becoming commericalised and populist in order to bring in larger audience numbers.

Some PLURALISTS argue that this is not a problem because it is forcing PSB channels to give viewers more choice in order to compete with services such as Virgin or Sky.

ON THE OTHER HAND;
