Christian teachings on stewardship:
Stewardship is about looking after something so it can be passed on to the next generation. Christians believe God gave humans the stewardship of the Earth.(Genesis - humans have responsibilities to look after the Earth). The Old Testament says humans should treat animals fairly and land shouldn't be overfarmed - shouldn't grow crops every 50th year.
There is a parable in the Bible which states that we should leave the Earth in a better way than we found it.
Sermon of the Mount - one message of this was that Christians should share the Earth's resources. Christians believe they will be judged partly on how they have treated the Earth.
