Who discovered Uranus and when?
Uranus was discovered in 1781 by William Herschel.
How did he discover it?
He was using a homemade telescope in his garden and noticed that something that he originally thought was a comet appeared as a small disc. Subsequent observations allowed Herschel to determine the orbit of Uranus which he had now deduced to a planet.
How was Ceres discovered?
