prejudice is an attitude of mind. It means unfairly judging someone before the facts are known. Common prejudices include beliefs for example, that black men are good at dancing and women are not capable of leadership jobs in society.

discrimination means acting against someone because of their sex, race, religon, age, etc. Discimination might include paying a women less than a man for the same job, not giving a person a job because of their skin colour, not trusting someone because they are of a different race to you. Discimination is often against the law.
