1. Carbon Dioxide is removed from the air by green plants and algae during photosynthesis.

2. The plants and algae use the carbon to make carbohydrates, fats and proteins.

3. Some of the Carbon is returned to the air as Carbon Dioxide when the plants and algae respire.
