The Bolsheviks

  • The Bolshevik leaders were in exile. Lenin was in Switzerland and Stalin in Siberia.
  • This meant the Bolsheviks were without a leader.
  • Lenin made it back to Russia ASAP with the help from Germany.
  • The Germans saw that the Bolsheviks wanted to withdraw from the war.
  • This would release German troops from the Eastern Front.
