Lady Jane Grey => Mary I

1553 Edward VI's health begins to deteriorate. He writes "My Devise for the Succession" which he changes several times before his death. Initially, he wants a male heir on the throne, but when it becomes apparent that he will die without any male heirs in the family, he appoints Lady Jane Grey as his successor.
