The Central executive
Controls attention and guides it towards the two slave systems (phonological loop and visuo-spatial sketchpad)
The Phonological loop
Acts as a temporary storage system for verbal information.
Has two components: the articulary control process (inner voice) and the phonological store (inner ear). The phonological store acts as temporary space for coding acoustic information & has a limited capacity.

A temporary storage system for visual and spatial information which has two components: inner scribe and visual cache.
