The Effects Of Gas Attacks:
- GAS ATTACKS - Caused by great fear and panic. It was not a major cause of death. Only 6000 soldiers died from this, during the course of WW1. In 1915, the troops were given gas masks, which became more sophisticated overtime.
- MUSTARD GAS (1917) - This was odourless gas that worked within 12 hours. It caused internal and external blisters and could pass through clothing to burn the skin.
- CHLORINE (1915) - Led to death by suffocation. To prevent this gas from entering the body, soldiers had to soak cotton pads…
