• The Christian understanding is that God is omnibenevolent in the Old and New Testaments.
• God is intrinsically loving, it is part of his nature and is not caused or influenced by humans. 
• Jesus believed in love of agape which means unconditional and selfless love.
• Agape is seen as central to the religion, especially due to the fact that Jesus seemed to pomote it throughout his life, sometimes even breaking the rules of the time.
