Aim of Plan

• Created in 1897 and took 9 years to finalise
• made by army cheif Alfred von Schlieffen
• Created because Germany would be at war on either side (France and Russia)
• France was weak - beaten quickly
• Russia was strong - longer to mobilise army
• aim was to take out Paris with 90% of German army through Belgium
• plan of attack
