Civilization is coming to a dark finale. A reversal of the american founding legend, go west, manifest destiny, shining light upon the hill. America has historically been about expansion. Go west was the catchphrase used about the expansion west in America. Manifest destiny was to conquer the frontier and man pitting himself vs nature. Shining city and light upon a hill is a biblical refrenece which tells us how america is the great light of the world. A fundemental tension in the road is a reversal of this move west. Instead of the American power moving west and expanding, the land is reclaiming what was took and the light is diminishing, as for manifest destiny, America has no destiny now. The American civilization is taking its place among the other great fallen civilizations. America is not special or permanent…
