The meaning of a text

There are many viewpoints and perspectives of the meaning of the texs amd examiner will be looking for evidence that has been considered. Broadly speaking these different interpretations might relate to the following;

1) CHARACTER

what sory of person are they?

• is the character an archetype
• does the chsracter personify symbolise or represent a specific idea or concept
• is the character modern,niversal of their time(hostorically accurate)

2) IDEAS AND ISSUES

what the nicek tells us about specific ideas and issues and how we can interpret these

• how a society is affected by colonialisation
• the role of men and women in different societies
