-The impact of Henry on English society was not great. 

-His reign had witnessed many changes, most importantly the break from the Roman Catholic Church. 

-In 1533-4 he had ensured the breaking away from the Catholic church and created his own church with him as the head. 

-In the process he had severed a 1,000 year relationship. 

-He had provoked considerable opposition, not only from nobles such as Thomas More but also from ordinary people such as the peasants that took part in the Pilgrimage of Grace of 1536.
