UN involvement

After the invasion, the USA called for a special session of the UN Security Council. At the time the USSR was boycotting the UN due to China not being recognised. and so, without Soviet presence to Veto, the UN demanded an immediate ceasefire. the USA called for UN intervention; this meant that the US would not appear to act alone. International troops were sent to South Korea under US command. 

Phase One June - Sept 1950

North Korean forces invade the South getting close to Pusan. Stalin approved the invasion and provided military materials but not troops. Chinese troops massed in Manchuria, awaiting instructions. 29 countries vommited…
