The Genetic Code

  • DNA acts as a store of information.
  • Chromasomes are divided up into shorter sections called genes.
  • Codes carried by DNA determine what reactions take place and the formation of proteins and therefore the characteristics of an organism.

The Triplet Code

  • Each amino acid must have its own code.
  • There are 4 bases in DNA
