The control of photosynthesis

The process of photosynthesis depends upon:

the availability of light (light provides the energy that drives photosynthesis)

the presence of chlorophyll (essential for the absorption of light energy)

Supply of carbon dioxide and water (CO2 is the substrate in shortest supply, there is almost always enough water)

Suitable temperature for enzyme activity (a rise in temperature increases the rate of enzyme activity, although very high temp. cause denaturation)

The limiting factor is the one which controls the rate of the overall process because it is the factor nearest to it's minimum value. The
