What was the British Empire?

The British Empire was a group of various colonies, countries either won in wars or where so many British settled making the country British or countries discovered by British.

How did this Empire help Britian?

The empire was a great resource of wealth. Thanks to the colonies, Britain was able to get cheap raw materials from them to then sell the finished good back to the colonies at a profit. As the time passed, trade with other grew, making merchants and factory owners huge amounts of money and many job places in the British factories.
