Terminal Velocity

Usually to do with falling objects

Falling through water or oil or something falling through the air

Falling through a fluid (either a liquid or a gas/air)

• Man jumps from the plane - gravity(weight) pulling downwards and air resistance going upwards - The downwards force is the stronger force so he is accelerating
• As he gains speed the air resistance gains more force - he is accelerating less
• Eventually the two forces equal each other…
