Symptoms of Depression

Depression is called the 'common cold' of mental disorders. 

SYMPTOMS;

-extreme lathargy 
-disturbed sleep-early waking, insomnia
-permanent anxiety
-irritability
-feelings of dispair
-hopelessness
-lack of concentration
-loss of interest or pleasure in usual activities
-lack of sex drive
-irrational fears
-suicidal thoughts
-headaches
-digestive problems

Other disorders with similar symptoms-sleep disorder, anxiety disorder, obessional behaviour.
No test for depression, diagnosis relies on self-report data or info from families and friends.
