This is about improving our quality of life without damaging the quality of life for future generations.

Because of our rising population and our constant use of fossil fuels, we are damaging the earth by things such as, pollution. We as humans are reducing the amount of land and resources available for plants and animals. This is because of farming, quarrying, dumping waste and building etc.

We have to plan carefully in order for us not to damage the environment. Sustainable development involves each of us as individuals but also people in governments around the world and at regional levels too.

Biodiversity - This is the variety of species present in the area. If we cut down forests or destroy habitats then this leads to a higher chance of a species becoming exctinct, this is a reduced biodiversity. This is bad because:
