"he spared Cleopatra's chidlren by Antony, and brought them up as if his own" - shows good side of Aug. - only punishes those who could damage him.

"To perpetuate the glory of his victory at Actium, he founded a city close to the scene of the battle" - shows how important winning Actium was to Aug

"he suppressed a series of sporadic riots and revolts" - implies not everyone was happy with Aug.

"held the next nine in sequence" - refers to consulships - shows that Aug wasn't always for trad
