A Good Introduction is Crucial.

An introduction is really important. A good one will make your reader want to read on.

Do you ever dream of a better bed? If your current bed is sad, hard or lumpy, it could be stopping you from getting the good night's sleep you deserve.

• This is the introduction to a persuasive text that's trying to sell something. It uses a question to get the reader's attention and it makes the reader feel important.

I passionately believe that our school needs a breakfast club. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Research has proven time and time again that a good breakfast does wonders for our brains and our bodies.

• This is the introduction to an argument. It sets out the argument clearly and uses strong language to convince the reader.
