Structures in the gas exchange.

1. The lungs are big pink sponges. The lungs are protected by the rib cage.

2. The diaphram is  muscle that sits underneath the rib cage. It moves up when it relaxes and down when it contracts. This helps get air in and out of the lungs.

3. The air breathed in goes through the trachea. This splits into two tubes called bronchi (each singular one is called bronchus)
