  • Practical advantages
    • Costly but easy to train interviewers
    • Can reach large numbers of people
    • Easily quantified
  • High response rate
    • Despite having a smaller sample, many people agree to participate, as they may feel it is difficult to turn down a face-to-face interview.
    • Those who are interviewed may not represent the whole sampling frame (may be unemployed, elderly etc) which skews data. 
  • Reliability
