Male Reproductive System

  • Sperm are produced in tubes called seminiferous tubules
  • Interstitial cells produce testosterone
  • Sperm require energy and a fluid medium to swim in (semen)
  • Seminal vesicles - Secrete a viscous liquid rich in fructose and prostaglandins. Fructose provides sperm with the energy needed for motility
  • Prostate gland - Secretes a thin lubricating liquid containing enzymes
