- Virtue ethics appeals to both SECULAR and RELIGIOUS morality
An athiest can aspire to be like Jesus without believing that he was the son of God. The example of jesus is an inspiration to people of all different faiths or those of no religious faith whatsoever. it is also apparent that in christian texts that by taking an altruistic attitude is a virtuous thing to aspire too (unselfish concern for the welfare of others)
- The principles of virtue ethics are compatible with religious beliefs
They can complement the moral guidelines outlined in religious writings, as the teachings on virtues are focused not on the moral actions but the agent's moral development
