STRENGTHS
- It is a Christian theory that is updated to fit the social change of the 1960s
- It agrees with the teachings of love by Jesus
- Agapé is the focal point, which is hard to argue against
- It considers the context of the action and not just the action itself
- it always gives one solution, where in some situations absolutism would say all actions were wrong
- In absolutist theories there are conflicts between moral rules, but Situation Ethics uses agapé love to resolve them
- The flexibility of a relativist theory allows tough decisions to be made
- Situation Ethics is applicable on every scale, governmental or local, and it is universal
