Stratford was one of the most deprived communities in the country. High unemployment levels and poor health. The majority of the working population worked in unskilled, low paying jobs.
Negatives:
- 450 houses and Britain's largest church will have to be demolished to make room for the athlete's village. People have to be relocated.
- Construction will destroy every building, business and tree in the surrounding area.
Enviromental impacts:
- Olympic Park opened to the public
- Surrounding area was cleaned up…
