Sugar is also a type of carbohydrate which can be found in FRUITS, DRINKS and SWEET BAKED PRODUCTS

Starch can be used as:

• Bulking agent - main structure of product, BISCUITS, CAKES and PASTRY
• Thickening agent - starch is heated and the walls become soft and allow liquid to pass through them slowly and granules can then swell till they burst…
